What a customer timeline should actually show

An account's history is not the account's rows. Three sources, one list, and the ordering problem nobody mentions.

Ask a CRM to show you everything that happened with a customer and most will show you what was logged against the customer RECORD. The call logged on a person who works there, and the note on the deal being negotiated with them, are on other pages — and the timeline does not mention that it is partial.

Merging the three is easy. Bounding them is not: a list capped at twenty-five rows overall drops whichever source sorts last, so a customer with chatty contacts and one quiet deal shows no deal activity at all, and shows it missing without saying so. Each source has to be bounded on its own, and the screen has to say what it left out.

Then there is the ordering. If you sort by when something was TYPED rather than when it HAPPENED, three sources with different admin habits interleave by whose paperwork is tidier, and the page confidently narrates an order of events that did not occur. The fix is two timestamps, and saying both when they differ.
